BLAT is a tool offered by UCSC that has been designed to find sequences that are at least 95% similar to the query in a short time. This tool can be used for DNA and protein sequences.
BLAT is NOT the same as BLAST and has a different mode of action (for details please the "About BLAT" at the link below).
